Privacy Policy

Effective September 23, 2026

In short: reviewOTD works entirely on your device. It doesn’t upload your photos, has no accounts, ads, analytics or tracking, and we run no servers for it. The only thing it syncs is a running deletion total, through your own iCloud, which we can’t see.

This policy covers the reviewOTD app for iPhone and iPad and this website, including its contact form.

Your photos and videos

reviewOTD asks for full access to your Photos library. It needs full access, rather than limited access, because it searches every past year of your library for items captured on a given calendar date.

The app uses this access only to show you your photos and videos for review, and to move items you choose to delete to Recently Deleted in the Photos app. Deletions only happen after you confirm them with the standard iOS delete confirmation, and deleted items can be restored from Recently Deleted for 30 days.

All processing happens on your device. The app never uploads your photos or videos, and they are never sent to us or to anyone else.

What the app stores

The following settings are stored on your device:

  • your protected dates (recurring month and day values);
  • the reminder time you’ve chosen; and
  • your review history (which dates you’ve reviewed and when), used to suggest days you haven’t reviewed recently.

Deleting the app removes this on-device data.

What is synced

The only data the app syncs is the running total of how much you’ve sent to Recently Deleted. It is stored in your own iCloud account using iCloud key-value storage, so it can carry over between your devices. We can’t see it. iCloud is provided by Apple under Apple’s own terms and privacy policy.

Notifications

Reminders are optional. If you turn them on, the app schedules local notifications on your device: at most one a day, at the time you choose, and only on days that have media and aren’t protected. reviewOTD does not use push notifications, and nothing about your library is sent anywhere to schedule them.

What we don’t do

  • No accounts or sign-in.
  • No advertising.
  • No analytics or usage tracking.
  • No tracking across apps or websites.
  • No third-party SDKs.
  • No servers run by us that the app talks to.

Because of this, we don’t collect, receive, sell or share any personal data from the app. The only personal data we receive is what you choose to send us through the contact form.

Sharing

Data leaves the app only when you choose to share an item yourself using the standard iOS share sheet. Where it goes then is up to you and the app or service you share it with.

This website

This website uses no cookies, analytics or trackers, and loads no resources from third parties. It is hosted on Cloudflare. The only information it collects is what you choose to send through the contact form, described below.

Contact form

If you send a message through the contact form, we receive what you enter: your email address, the topic and your message, plus your name and device and iOS version if you give them. It is sent to the developer by email, using Cloudflare’s email service, which processes it to deliver it. Your IP address is used briefly to limit repeated submissions; it isn’t included in the message or kept by us.

We use it only to reply to you and help with your question. We don’t share it, sell it, add you to a mailing list or use it for marketing.

Children

The reviewOTD app does not collect personal data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If the app’s behaviour changes in a way that affects your privacy, this policy will be updated and the effective date above will change.
